Tertiary Education Bursary Program

Beginning in October 2010, we added a further charitable function. We are now funding Tertiary Education Bursaries for student children of financially disadvantaged families.

On average the Iwasaki Foundation will have 16 students completing their studies with the help of Bursary Funding. These payments will continue for the duration of the students’ courses, subject to them meeting the required academic and needs-based standards.

We trust this provides sufficient information to assist you to understand and appreciate the range of activities of The Iwasaki Foundation and its founding family.

Online Bursary Application

In exceptional circumstances the sub-committee can accept applications for the second semester of a year for a reduced amount for that semester.

Section D - Personal Statement

This is your opportunity to make your case to the selection panel. Your statement should be no longer than 500 words. Include information about yourself, your future goals and the impact your needs or disability has had on your study and career choice. What are the barriers you have faced in purchasing adaptive technology? Your statement should also demonstrate your potential for success in higher education. This can include past academic results, employment history, participation in study groups or other training, community service, leadership roles, and other achievements.

Section E - Letter from a Referee

A referee may be a representative from your school, church, local community group or a person who has known you for at least 12 months.

The letter must be specific to the Iwasaki Foundation Further Education Bursary. It should include information about your dependence on adaptive technology in further education, your need for the Bursary and your ability to achieve in your chosen education option.

The letter can be submitted with this application or sent separately by email to duthies@cqnet.com.au It is preferable if the referee letter is submitted on letterhead or sent from the person’s work email address.

Section F - Financial Assessment

Please note that many tertiary institutions offer a range of grants or scholarships varying from $500 to $20,000, which can support the academic costs of tertiary studies.
